This is a hands-on experience which provides a unique chance to interact with a treasured aspect of the local culture. You get to play with the Nevis clay and wow yourself with your creation. While you will enjoy this experience, your participation would also make a significant contribution to sustaining the local culture. WHAT TO EXPECT Upon arrival, you would be greeted by the master potters at the Newcastle Pottery, who would introduce you to the pottery making traditions of the island. Then the fun begins. You would meet the clay and the tools you would use. Your assignment would be to make a “Yabba” pot. The master potters would instruct you and assist. By the time you are done you would have completed the most important parts of the pot, but because it is clay, it must be dried, fired and finished. This part of the process takes up to one and a half weeks. But not to worry, the potters would complete the process, and for an additional shipping, handling and purchasing charge, mail it to your home address. You can then use it to cook your meals for years to come and have nice memories of Nevis. WHO SHOULD BOOK Families, couples, creative individuals or guests who love pottery. This tour is guided. Cancellation Policy
This tour has a minimum number of participants in order to operate. If your booking is less than the minimum, we will notify you if we do not have enough participants to proceed. Once we notify you, you may choose to proceed by paying the minimum fee, or to opt out within the cancellation period without paying. If your booking is within 48 hours of the tour, it is guaranteed only if we specifically contact you in addition to the receipt you received. In consideration of our customers, tour guides, and service providers we have adopted the following cancellation policy: All cancellations must be submitted in writing by completing the fields in our cancellation form. Please reference the event, tour, or day-trip along with the date and time of the original booking. The date and time when the cancellation form is received by us will be considered the cancellation date and time in applying the cancellation policy. A refund is offered on cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to your tour or day trip. Cancellations made in less than 24 hours of your tour or day trip will not be refunded. Cancellations of private tours or day trips like the romantic day, or other tours specifically requested to be private, are refunded if made 36 hours or more prior to the tour or day trip. Private tour cancellations made in less than 36 hours of the tour or day trip will not be refunded. All cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee. Events, tours and day trips which require tickets or registration fees may have cancellation fees which include the cost of the ticket or registration fee. Refunds on cancellations due to weather conditions are possible. In these situations refunds are granted if inclement weather caused the event or tour provider to cancel. Refunds are not issued for guests who do not meet at the agreed time and place for events, tours and day-trips. Cancellations should be made by the person who booked.
